Making History in Philadelphia

In early February, our Middle School boys and girls teams, along with our elementary boys team, traveled to Philadelphia to compete in the SEA Team National Tournament. It was a journey of resilience, teamwork, and history-making moments.

Our elementary boys team earned their first-ever win, finishing with a 1-2 record and securing 5th place overall. Our middle school girls team, the first in program history, went 0-3 but celebrated a milestone victory with their first individual match win. This team included our very first KOPA (KOPA Allegro- North Charleston) member, who not only won her debut match but also claimed KOPA’s first-ever SEA tournament victory.

The middle school boys team competed in Division 1 and achieved an impressive 5th place finish with a 2-1 record—a huge leap from their last-place finish just a year ago.

Over the course of 23 hours on the road, spanning 1,300 miles and five states, our students pushed past fatigue and rallied around each other. They cheered each other on at every match, woke up early to support teammates when they didn’t have to, and embraced every experience along the way—from visiting Buc-ee’s to exploring national monuments in Washington, D.C., to standing courtside at the Ivy League Championship between #1 Penn and #2 Princeton.
